If you have booked or looking to book your OSCE exam at the University of Ulster here is some information about the campus and the exam process:

The Test of Competence Centre is located on the Magee Campus of Ulster University in Derry Londonderry.

Exam process

Duration: the exam takes approximately 3 hours

Before you arrive:

You must make sure that you have completed the following: 

·       Watched the online briefing video

·       Completed the confidentiality agreement and declaration

·       Completed the health declaration

·       Completed the NMC ID document form. You are required to bring only the documents listed on this form. These are used to complete your NMC ID verification check on the day of your OSCE.

When you arrive:

The university will check the documents that you are required to bring. You will then have your photograph taken and stored on the database.

Your belongings:  All your belongings must be stored in a small locker. Please avoid bringing any bulky clothing, large suitcases to the assessment centre.

Friends and family: We do not allow friends or family, including children, to wait for you while you are taking the OSCE exam. Please note once you enter the test of competence centre, you will not be able to leave until you have completed your exam.

How to get there:

 Northern Ireland has three reginal airports all served by the efficient Airporter and Translink bus services; Belfast International, George Best Belfast City, and City of Derry.

Northern Ireland has two frequent ferry services, firstly a two-hour crossing from Cairnryan in Scotland to Larne up to seven times a day (operated by P&O Ferries) and secondly a two hour and 20 minutes crossing from Cairnryan to Belfast with six sailings a day (operated by Stenaline).

The journey time from both of these ports to the Test of Competence Centre on the Magee campus is approximately two hours
